ABOUT

Hi!  I'm Sandra Lins and I am a teacher in Denver, Colorado.  I teach 4th and 5th grade math and science at Dora Moore ECE.  Two years ago I submitted an application to IREX for the chance to be rewarded an opportunity to learn more about how to create a classroom of global learners.  In addition to taking an online class, I would also get the chance to go to a sister country and work in the classroom with a host teacher and share my learning as well as gain experience that I could bring back to my classroom.  I was one of a small number of recipients to be awarded this amazing opportunity!!! So this year I am headed to India and I am excited to share my experience with everyone!  Thanks for joining me!!!!!

My guiding question for my time in India is "What motivates you to learn and grow educationally?  Is it intrinsic or extrinsic or both?".  I have also decided to include on my website examples of how young people can make a difference because I believe they can change the world if motivated.  I want to be able to reach my students and help them learn what motivates them and to tie in the global aspect.  They can make a difference locally and globally for the betterment the whole world!!
